About Cash Ball 225

Cash Ball 225 is a 4-number game: pick four numbers from 1 to 35 and a Cash Ball from 1 to 25. Every prize is fixed: four numbers pay $2,250, or $225,000 with the Cash Ball; three pay $50, or $225.

Because only four numbers are drawn, wheels here cover the field quickly, and every guarantee has a known value.

What Cash Ball 225 wheels cost

Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match (at least $50) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.

Numbers you markTicketsCost per drawCost per weekHow often the guarantee comes into play
6 of 356$6$421 in 88 draws, about once every 3 months

The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Every prize is fixed. The $225,000 top prize is paid to each winner unless the total would pass $1 million in one draw, when they share $1 million. The Cash Ball alone wins a free play. Can a wheel improve your odds?

No. Each line still has the same 1 in 1,309,000 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.37 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions

How many numbers should I mark?

As many as your budget allows. In Cash Ball 225, going from 6 to 15 numbers takes the cost from $6 to $124 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 88 draws to 1 in 5.0. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.

Which Cash Ball should I use?

Your choice. Putting the same Cash Ball on every ticket means that if it's drawn, every ticket matches it. Mixing them means more of your tickets have a chance, but only one or two can match. On average the two pay the same.

Can I take this printout to the store?

Not as a playslip: Kentucky doesn't accept copied playslips. Copy your lines onto official playslips, read them to the clerk, or buy online: the Kentucky Lottery sells Cash Ball 225 on its website and app to players in Kentucky.
