About Mississippi Match 5
Below the jackpot, Mississippi Match 5 prizes are fixed: $200 for four numbers and $10 for three, and two numbers win a free ticket. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and grows until someone wins it.
With only 35 numbers, a wheel on 10 or 12 of them catches three winning numbers on a good share of draws; each option above shows exactly how often.
What Mississippi Match 5 wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($10) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 35 | 8 | $16 | $112 | 1 in 15 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 10 of 35 | 17 | $34 | $238 | 1 in 7.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 12 of 35 | 29 | $58 | $406 | 1 in 4.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 35 | 55 | $110 | $770 | 1 in 2.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 35 | 94 | $188 | $1,316 | 53% draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 324,632 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.48 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Mississippi Match 5, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $16 to $188 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 15 draws to 53%. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
What is the Multiplier?
For $1 more per line, each line gets a random 2X to 5X multiplier on every prize below the jackpot: four numbers pay $400 to $1,000 instead of $200. It raises a wheel's cost by half.
Can I take this printout to the store?
Not as a playslip: Mississippi accepts only playslips filled in by hand. Copy your lines onto official playslips, or read them to the clerk. Tickets aren't sold online.
