About Nebraska Pick 5
Below the jackpot, Nebraska Pick 5 prizes are fixed: $500 for four numbers and $9 for three, and two numbers win a free Quick Pick. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and grows until someone wins it.
It is drawn every night, and with 40 numbers a wheel on 10 or 12 of them catches three winning numbers on a fair share of draws. Each option above shows exactly how often.
What Nebraska Pick 5 wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($9) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 40 | 8 | $8 | $56 | 1 in 22 draws, about once every 3 weeks |
| 10 of 40 | 17 | $17 | $119 | 1 in 11 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 12 of 40 | 29 | $29 | $203 | 1 in 6.7 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 40 | 55 | $55 | $385 | 1 in 3.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 40 | 94 | $94 | $658 | 1 in 2.5 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 658,008 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.31 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Nebraska Pick 5, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $94 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 22 draws to 1 in 2.5. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Can I take this printout to the store?
Not as a playslip: Nebraska voids playslips that are copies or weren't marked by hand. Copy your lines onto official playslips, read them to the clerk, or use the Nebraska Lottery app's ePLAYSLIPS. Tickets aren't sold online.
