About Palmetto Cash 5
Every $2 Palmetto Cash 5 line gets a free random multiplier when you buy it: 2X, 3X, 5X or 10X on every prize below the jackpot. Four numbers pay $600 to $3,000, three pay $10 to $50 and two pay $2 to $10.
The jackpot starts at $100,000 and grows by at least $10,000 every day until someone wins it.
What Palmetto Cash 5 wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match (at least $10) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 42 | 8 | $16 | $112 | 1 in 25 draws, about once every 4 weeks |
| 10 of 42 | 17 | $34 | $238 | 1 in 13 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 12 of 42 | 29 | $58 | $406 | 1 in 7.6 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 42 | 55 | $110 | $770 | 1 in 4.3 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 42 | 94 | $188 | $1,316 | 1 in 2.8 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 850,668 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.84 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Palmetto Cash 5, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $16 to $188 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 25 draws to 1 in 2.8. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Can I play online?
No. South Carolina Lottery tickets are sold only in stores. The SCEL app can make a digital playslip that the retailer scans.
