About Connecticut Cash5
Every Connecticut Cash5 prize is fixed: $100,000 for all five numbers, $300 for four and $10 for three. With only 35 numbers, a wheel on 10 or 12 of them catches three winning numbers on a good share of draws; each option above shows exactly how often.
Two numbers win nothing on their own, which is unusual; the optional Kicker adds smaller prizes, including for one and two numbers.
Matching two numbers pays nothing in Connecticut Cash5, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."
What Connecticut Cash5 wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($10) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 35 | 8 | $8 | $56 | 1 in 15 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 10 of 35 | 17 | $17 | $119 | 1 in 7.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 12 of 35 | 29 | $29 | $203 | 1 in 4.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 35 | 55 | $55 | $385 | 1 in 2.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 35 | 94 | $94 | $658 | 53% draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

| 4 numbers | $300 | 1 in 2,164 |

Every prize is fixed, including the $100,000 top prize, unless a draw's prizes would pass 350% of its sales. Prizes shown are without the Kicker. Rules, prizes and odds were checked on October 2, 2026 against the official source; always confirm them, and your results, at ctlottery.com.
Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 324,632 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.27 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Connecticut Cash5, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $94 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 15 draws to 53%. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
What is the Kicker?
For 50¢ more per line you pick a sixth number from 1 to 35. If it's one of the five numbers drawn, your prize rises: four numbers pay $4,650 instead of $300 and three pay $75 instead of $10, and one or two numbers win $2 or $5. It raises a wheel's cost by half.
Can I play online?
Yes. The Connecticut Lottery sells draw games on its own website and app to players who are in Connecticut, so you can enter a wheel's lines there instead of filling in playslips.
