What a Florida Fantasy 5 wheel does
A wheel takes more numbers than fit on one line and spreads them across several tickets in a careful pattern. The pattern guarantees a minimum win whenever enough of the winning numbers are among the ones you picked.
For example, one 10-number wheel uses 17 tickets ($17 a draw). If three of the five winning numbers are among your 10, at least one ticket matches three (estimated $10). With 10 numbers out of 36, that happens on 1 in 8.4 draws.
What it doesn't do
A wheel can't change the odds of the draw. Each line has the same 1 in 376,992 chance at the top prize as any other, and on average pays back about 50¢ of every dollar as prizes, jackpot included, whether you use a wheel, quick picks or birthdays.
What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped. Random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your favorite numbers. A wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them.
Fantasy 5 has only 36 numbers, so the draw lands on several of yours far more often than in Powerball or Florida Lotto. That makes wheel guarantees pay off much more often here: each option above shows exactly how often.
The top prize doesn't roll over. When nobody matches all five, it rolls down: players who matched four get up to $555 each, and the rest goes to those who matched three. A wheel that catches four numbers on a rolldown draw can pay well.
Florida Fantasy 5 prizes and odds
| Match | Prize | Odds per line |
|---|---|---|
| 5 numbers | Top prize, est. $100,000 | 1 in 376,992 |
| 4 numbers | Est. $107 | 1 in 2,432 |
| 3 numbers | Est. $10 | 1 in 81.07 |
| 2 numbers | Free ticket | 1 in 8.39 |
All cash prizes are shared among the winners, so they change from draw to draw; amounts shown are the Florida Lottery's typical estimates. When nobody matches all five, the top prize rolls down to the 4- and 3-number winners. Check the official rules and results at floridalottery.com.
Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. More numbers make the guarantee pay off more often, but they need more tickets.A wheel that guarantees a three-number match whenever three of your numbers are drawn costs $17 a draw with 10 numbers and $29 with 12. Wheels with weaker guarantees cost less. Office pools can afford bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
How do I play these tickets?
Print them and fill in a playslip line for each ticket at any Florida Fantasy 5 retailer, or enter them in the lottery's app if it sells tickets online in your area.
Midday or evening?
Fantasy 5 is drawn at 1:05 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. Eastern. Mark MID, EVE or BOTH on the playslip. Playing a wheel in both draws doubles the cost and gives your numbers two chances a day.
What is EZmatch?
An optional $1 add-on that prints instant-win numbers on your ticket. It isn't part of the draw and doesn't change your wheel.
Is this site part of Florida Fantasy 5?
No. LotteryWheels.com is an independent site and doesn't sell tickets. Always check your tickets against the official results at floridalottery.com.
