About Lucky Day Lotto
Below the jackpot, Lucky Day Lotto prizes are fixed: $200 for four numbers, $15 for three and $1 for two, so every wheel guarantee has a known value.
With two draws a day, the jackpot is won often: 27 times between July and September 2026, paying a median of $250,000 per winning ticket.
What Lucky Day Lotto wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($15) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 45 | 8 | $8 | $112 | 1 in 31 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 10 of 45 | 17 | $17 | $238 | 1 in 15 draws, about once a week or more |
| 12 of 45 | 29 | $29 | $406 | 1 in 9.2 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 45 | 55 | $55 | $770 | 1 in 5.1 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 45 | 94 | $94 | $1,316 | 1 in 3.2 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 14 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 1,221,759 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.21 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Lucky Day Lotto, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $94 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 31 draws to 1 in 3.2. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Midday or evening?
Lucky Day Lotto is drawn at 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m. Central. Choose midday, evening or both; both draws doubles the cost of a wheel and gives your numbers two chances a day.
Can I play Lucky Day Lotto online?
Yes, on the Illinois Lottery's own website and app, while you're in Illinois.
