About Bonus Match 5
Every Bonus Match 5 prize is fixed: $50,000 for all five numbers, $400 for four and $15 for three. The Bonus Ball is a sixth ball you don't pick; if it matches one of your numbers that missed, four numbers pay $600, three pay $30 and two pay $2.
Boards cost $1 each or three for $2, so wheels with a multiple of three lines cost the least per line. The costs shown use the cheapest way to buy each wheel.
Matching two numbers without the Bonus Ball pays nothing in Bonus Match 5, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."
What Bonus Match 5 wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($15) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 39 | 8 | $6 | $42 | 1 in 20 draws, about once every 3 weeks |
| 10 of 39 | 17 | $12 | $84 | 1 in 10 draws, about once a week or more |
| 12 of 39 | 29 | $20 | $140 | 1 in 6.3 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 39 | 55 | $37 | $259 | 1 in 3.6 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 39 | 94 | $63 | $441 | 1 in 2.4 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Boards cost $1 each or three for $2. Rules, prizes and odds were checked on October 2, 2026 against the official source; always confirm them, and your results, at mdlottery.com.
Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 575,757 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.29 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Bonus Match 5, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $6 to $63 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 20 draws to 1 in 2.4. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Can I take this printout to the store?
Not as a playslip: Maryland doesn't accept playslips marked by a machine. Copy your lines onto official playslips by hand, or read them to the clerk. Lottery tickets can't be bought online in Maryland, though subscriptions can.
