About Multi-Match
Each $2 Multi-Match game has three lines, but you can only choose the first; lines 2 and 3 are always random. So a wheel needs one $2 game for each of its lines, and every game adds two random lines on top.
Those extra lines also count toward a second prize for the total matches across all three lines, from $2 for 5 to $2,000 for 10 or more. Those wins are a bonus on top of your wheel, not part of its guarantee.
Matching two numbers pays nothing in Multi-Match, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."
What Multi-Match wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($2) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 43 | 4 | $8 | $16 | 1 in 15 draws, about once every 7 weeks |
| 10 of 43 | 10 | $20 | $40 | 1 in 7.9 draws, about once every 4 weeks |
| 12 of 43 | 15 | $30 | $60 | 1 in 4.9 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 15 of 43 | 31 | $62 | $124 | 1 in 2.9 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 43 | 48 | $96 | $192 | 1 in 2.0 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 2 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 6,096,454 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.12 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Multi-Match, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $96 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 15 draws to 1 in 2.0. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Can I take this printout to the store?
Not as a playslip: Maryland doesn't accept playslips marked by a machine. Copy your lines onto official playslips by hand, or read them to the clerk. Lottery tickets can't be bought online in Maryland, though subscriptions can.
