About Big Sky Bonus
Big Sky Bonus is a 4-number game: pick four numbers from 1 to 31 and a Bonus Number from 1 to 16. The jackpot is won by matching all four numbers, and the Bonus Number lifts the smaller prizes: three numbers pay $20, or $30 with it, and the Bonus Number alone pays $10.
With only 31 numbers and four to match, wheels here cover a lot of the field, and the jackpot is won far more often than in most games.
What Big Sky Bonus wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match (at least $20) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 of 31 | 6 | $12 | $84 | 1 in 61 draws, about once every 9 weeks |
| 8 of 31 | 14 | $28 | $196 | 1 in 23 draws, about once every 3 weeks |
| 10 of 31 | 30 | $60 | $420 | 1 in 12 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 12 of 31 | 57 | $114 | $798 | 1 in 6.7 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 31 | 124 | $248 | $1,736 | 1 in 3.6 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Matching all four numbers wins the jackpot, which grows with sales until it is won and is shared among winners; the Bonus Number adds $10. All other prizes are fixed. The Bonus Number is picked from 1 to 16 on its own, so it can repeat one of your four numbers. Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 503,440 chance at the top prize, and the same average return, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Big Sky Bonus, going from 6 to 15 numbers takes the cost from $12 to $248 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 61 draws to 1 in 3.6. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Which Bonus Number should I use?
Your choice. Putting the same Bonus Number on every ticket means that if it's drawn, every ticket matches it. Mixing them means more of your tickets have a chance, but only one or two can match. On average the two pay the same.
Is there a limit on how much I can play?
Montana can refuse prizes if one person or group buys more than 5% of all possible combinations in 24 hours. Every wheel here is far below that.
Can I play online?
No. Montana Lottery tickets aren't sold online, though licensed courier services operate in Montana. The Montana State Lottery app can make digital playslips (QR codes) that retailers scan.
