About Tennessee Cash
Tennessee Cash adds a Cash Ball from 1 to 5 to every line, drawn from its own small pool. With only five Cash Balls, it matches on one line in five, and it lifts every prize: four numbers usually pay about $23, or about $110 with the Cash Ball.
Every cash prize is shared among the winners in its tier, so the amounts above are typical, not fixed. That's also why a wheel's guarantee here is stated in matches, with the usual amounts as a guide.
What Tennessee Cash wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match (usually about $4) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 35 | 8 | $8 | $24 | 1 in 15 draws, about once every 5 weeks |
| 10 of 35 | 17 | $17 | $51 | 1 in 7.8 draws, about once every 3 weeks |
| 12 of 35 | 29 | $29 | $87 | 1 in 4.8 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 15 of 35 | 55 | $55 | $165 | 1 in 2.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 35 | 94 | $94 | $282 | 53% draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 3 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 1,623,160 chance at the top prize, and on average about 50¢ of every dollar comes back as prizes, jackpot included, however you choose the numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Tennessee Cash, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $94 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 15 draws to 53%. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Which Cash Ball should I use?
Your choice. Putting the same Cash Ball on every ticket means that if it's drawn, every ticket matches it. Mixing them means more of your tickets have a chance, but only one or two can match. On average the two pay the same.
Can I use my phone to play?
The Tennessee Lottery app can turn your numbers into a mobile playslip (a QR code) that the retailer scans. That's quicker than marking a paper slip for a big wheel.
