What a Lotto Texas wheel does

A wheel takes more numbers than fit on one line and spreads them across several tickets in a careful pattern. The pattern guarantees a minimum win whenever enough of the winning numbers are among the ones you picked.

For example, one 10-number wheel uses 10 tickets ($10 a draw). If three of the six winning numbers are among your 10, at least one ticket matches three ($3). With 10 numbers out of 54, that happens on 1 in 14 draws.

What it doesn't do

A wheel can't change the odds of the draw. Each line has the same 1 in 25,827,165 chance at the top prize as any other, and on average pays back about 50¢ of every dollar as prizes, jackpot included, whether you use a wheel, quick picks or birthdays.

What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped. Random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your favorite numbers. A wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them.

Matching two numbers pays nothing in Lotto Texas, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."

Three numbers always pays a fixed $3 in Lotto Texas, while the 4- and 5-number prizes are shared among the winners, estimated at $50 and $2,000. So a three-number guarantee returns $3 on a $1 line, and the bigger guarantees are where the money is.

With Extra!, $1 more per line, three numbers pays $13, four pays the shared prize plus $100, five pays the shared prize plus $10,000, and two numbers wins $2. On a wheel it doubles the cost and makes the three-number guarantee worth $13.

Questions

How many numbers should I mark?

As many as your budget allows. More numbers make the guarantee pay off more often, but they need more tickets.A wheel that guarantees a three-number match whenever three of your numbers are drawn costs $10 a draw with 10 numbers and $15 with 12. Wheels with weaker guarantees cost less. Office pools can afford bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.

How do I play these tickets?

Print them and fill in a playslip line for each ticket at any Lotto Texas retailer, or enter them in the lottery's app if it sells tickets online in your area.

Annuity or cash?

In Texas you choose when you buy the ticket: 30 yearly payments or the Cash Value Option, and you can't change it later. Mark the same choice on every playslip in your wheel.

Can I buy a big wheel all at once?

Texas sells tickets only in person at licensed retailers. A proposed rule, not adopted as of October 2026, would limit sales to 100 tickets per person per transaction, so a larger wheel might need more than one purchase.

Is this site part of Lotto Texas?

No. LotteryWheels.com is an independent site and doesn't sell tickets. Always check your tickets against the official results at texaslottery.com.
