About Wisconsin Megabucks

Megabucks plays are sold in pairs: $1 buys two, and you pick the numbers on both. So a wheel costs 50¢ a line, and a wheel with an odd number of lines leaves one play to spare, which you can fill with any numbers you like.

Below the jackpot, prizes are fixed: $500 for five numbers, $30 for four and $2 for three. The jackpot starts at $1 million (paid over 25 years, or $400,000 in cash) and grows until someone wins it.

Matching two numbers pays nothing in Wisconsin Megabucks, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."

What Wisconsin Megabucks wheels cost

Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($2) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.

Numbers you markTicketsCost per drawCost per weekHow often the guarantee comes into play
8 of 494$2$41 in 21 draws, about once every 2 months
10 of 4910$5$101 in 11 draws, about once every 6 weeks
12 of 4915$8$161 in 6.8 draws, about once every 3 weeks
15 of 4931$16$321 in 3.9 draws, about once every 2 weeks
18 of 4948$24$481 in 2.6 draws, about once a week or more

The cost per week covers all 2 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

The jackpot starts at a $1 million annuity ($400,000 cash), grows until it is won and is shared among winners. All other prizes are fixed. $1 buys two plays, and you choose the numbers on both. Odds here are per play; the Lottery quotes them per $1. Rules, prizes and odds were checked on October 2, 2026 against the official source; always confirm them, and your results, at wilottery.com.

Can a wheel improve your odds?

No. Each line still has the same 1 in 13,983,816 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.07 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions

How many numbers should I mark?

As many as your budget allows. In Wisconsin Megabucks, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $2 to $24 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 21 draws to 1 in 2.6. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.

Does a wheel break Wisconsin's rule against guaranteed jackpots?

No. Wisconsin voids any play or set of plays that would guarantee the jackpot, which means buying every possible combination. A wheel only combines the numbers you chose, so it can only win the jackpot if the winning numbers are among yours.

Can I play online?

No. Wisconsin Lottery tickets are sold only in stores, for cash, and couriers aren't allowed. The free WI Lottery app can turn your numbers into a digital playslip (a QR code) that the clerk or a lottery vending machine scans.
