About Match 6 Lotto
Each $2 Match 6 game has three lines, but you can only choose the first; lines 2 and 3 are always random Quick Picks. So a wheel needs one $2 game for each of its lines, and every game adds two random lines on top.
Those extra lines also count toward "combined" prizes: Match 6 adds up how many of the drawn numbers appear anywhere among a game's 18 numbers, paying $2 for 4 up to $2,500 for 10 or more. Those wins are a bonus on top of your wheel, not part of its guarantee.
Matching two numbers pays nothing in Match 6 Lotto, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."
What Match 6 Lotto wheels cost
Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match ($2) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.
| Numbers you mark | Tickets | Cost per draw | Cost per week | How often the guarantee comes into play |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 of 49 | 4 | $8 | $56 | 1 in 21 draws, about once every 3 weeks |
| 10 of 49 | 10 | $20 | $140 | 1 in 11 draws, about once every 2 weeks |
| 12 of 49 | 15 | $30 | $210 | 1 in 6.8 draws, about once a week or more |
| 15 of 49 | 31 | $62 | $434 | 1 in 3.9 draws, about once a week or more |
| 18 of 49 | 48 | $96 | $672 | 1 in 2.6 draws, about once a week or more |
The cost per week covers all 7 draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Can a wheel improve your odds?
No. Each line still has the same 1 in 13,983,816 chance at the top prize, and on average about 58¢ of every dollar comes back as prizes, jackpot included, however you choose the numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. How lottery wheels work.
Questions
How many numbers should I mark?
As many as your budget allows. In Match 6 Lotto, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $96 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 21 draws to 1 in 2.6. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.
Can I play Match 6 online?
Yes, through PA iLottery, the Pennsylvania Lottery's own website and app, while you're in Pennsylvania.
