About Saturday Lotto

Saturday Lotto is one national draw, sold as TattsLotto in Victoria, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, Gold Lotto in Queensland, X Lotto in South Australia and Saturday Lotto elsewhere. Three winning numbers win Division 6, and three plus a supplementary win Division 5.

A System entry plays every combination of your numbers: System 10 is 210 games. A wheel plays a small set of those games, chosen so that if enough of your numbers are drawn, at least one game matches three or more. It costs far less, and it can't promise Division 1 the way a full System can.

Matching two numbers pays nothing in Saturday Lotto, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."

What Saturday Lotto wheels cost

Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match (usually about $10) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.

Numbers you markTicketsCost per drawCost per weekHow often the guarantee comes into play
8 of 454$3.85$3.851 in 17 draws, about once every 4 months
10 of 4510$9.60$9.601 in 8.9 draws, about once every 9 weeks
12 of 4515$14.35$14.351 in 5.5 draws, about once every 5 weeks
15 of 4531$29.60$29.601 in 3.2 draws, about once every 3 weeks
18 of 4548$45.80$45.801 in 2.2 draws, about once every 2 weeks

The cost per week covers the one draw a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Saturday Lotto System entries and wheels

A System entry plays every combination of the numbers you choose, at the full price of every game, so if all the winning numbers are among yours, it holds them. A wheel plays a few of those games instead. If 3 of your numbers are drawn, at least one of its games matches 3 (usually about $10); it can't promise more than that.

11462 games, $44111 games, $10.505 games, $4.80
12924 games, $88215 games, $14.356 games, $5.75

System prices are the official selling fees, and so are the wheels' prices. No choice of games changes the odds of any one game, or what entries pay back on average.

Key-number wheels

A key number goes on every ticket, and a smaller wheel covers the rest of your numbers. That cuts the cost a lot, which is why key wheels are popular. The catch is that the guarantee only counts in draws where your key is drawn, and in Saturday Lotto any one number is drawn about once in 8 draws.

So for the same money, a normal wheel's guarantee comes into play more often. Here are three-number guarantees side by side:

Every division shares a prize pool, so the amounts vary; those shown are typical recent ones. Division 1 shares an estimated $6 million most Saturdays, and more in Superdraws. Two supplementary numbers are drawn after the six winning numbers, from the same barrel; they count when they match one of your numbers that missed. Rules, prizes and odds were checked on October 5, 2026 against the official source; always confirm them, and your results, at The Lott or Lotterywest.

Can a wheel improve your odds?

No. Each line still has the same 1 in 8,145,060 chance at the top prize, and the same average return, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions

How many numbers should I mark?

As many as your budget allows. In Saturday Lotto, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $3.85 to $45.80 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 17 draws to 1 in 2.2. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.

How do I play these tickets in Australia?

Mark each line on an official coupon by hand at a lottery outlet, or enter them online or in the app: The Lott everywhere except Western Australia, Lotterywest there. A coupon holds up to 18 games and an online entry up to 50. Saved as Favourites in The Lott, a big wheel can be played in store by scanning your member card.
