About Western Max

Each $2 Western Max play has three lines of seven numbers, but you can choose only the first; the other two are computer-picked. So a wheel needs one $2 play for each of its lines, and every play adds two random lines.

Every prize is fixed: $10 for four numbers or three plus the Bonus Number, $100 for five, $1,000 for six and $2 million for all seven. Fourteen extra Western Millions draws each award $1 million to a line that matches one exactly; a wheel doesn't change your chances of those.

Matching two numbers without the Bonus Number pays nothing in Western Max, so every wheel here guarantees at least a three-number match. Be wary of any system that promises "two numbers every time."

What Western Max wheels cost

Each of these wheels guarantees a three-number match (a free play) whenever at least three of the winning numbers are among the ones you mark. The more numbers you mark, the more often that happens, and the more tickets it takes.

Numbers you markTicketsCost per drawCost per weekHow often the guarantee comes into play
8 of 504$8$161 in 14 draws, about once every 7 weeks
10 of 506$12$241 in 7.5 draws, about once every 4 weeks
12 of 5011$22$441 in 4.8 draws, about once every 2 weeks
15 of 5015$30$601 in 2.9 draws, about once a week or more
18 of 5032$64$1281 in 2.0 draws, about once a week or more

The cost per week covers both draws a week. The tool above also has cheaper wheels with weaker guarantees, and bigger ones that guarantee four or five numbers.

Every prize is fixed. The $2 million top prize is shared if several tickets match all seven, according to WCLC's website, and the $100,000 prize is shared among that draw's winners. The Bonus Number counts when it matches one of your numbers that missed. Odds here are per line; WCLC quotes them per $2 play of three lines. Rules, prizes and odds were checked on October 4, 2026 against the official source; always confirm them, and your results, at wclc.com.

Can a wheel improve your odds?

No. Each line still has the same 1 in 99,884,400 chance at the top prize and returns about $0.19 in other prizes on average, however you choose its numbers. What a wheel changes is how your wins are grouped: random tickets can all miss even when the draw lands on your numbers, and a wheel makes sure at least one ticket catches them. Questions

How many numbers should I mark?

As many as your budget allows. In Western Max, going from 8 to 18 numbers takes the cost from $8 to $64 a draw, and the three-number guarantee from 1 in 14 draws to 1 in 2.0. Lottery pools can afford the bigger wheels, which is where wheels make the most sense.

How do I play these tickets in Western Canada?

Copy each line onto a WCLC selection slip in pencil, or build them in the Lotto Spot! app, which turns them into a QR code the retailer scans. The app also sells single-draw tickets anywhere in the region, and Albertans can buy at PlayAlberta.ca and Manitobans at PlayNow.com.

Does the lottery sell wheels?

Only full wheels: WCLC's 8-number Combo Play is 8 lines for $16, and its 9-number one 36 lines for $72. The wheels here cover the same numbers with fewer lines, each with a stated guarantee.
